Stash Busting - Happy Birthday

I have another birthday layout today which I made whilst at my crafty getaway earlier in the year. I used lots of paper scraps to create the layout of Lara's 16th birthday.

I started with a 12x12 sheet of black cardstock and in the centre of this I stuck a sheet of grid paper which I had trimmed approx a quarter of an inch from each side.

I then layered pieces of black heart, red spot and red diagonal stripe papers onto the layout as well as a piece of narwhal patterned paper which I had downloaded from the internet and printed on my computer.

My 5x7 photo was mattered onto a piece of patterned paper and then placed on top of the other papers.

I created banners by stamping bunting onto yellow paper. The stamped images were then cut out and put onto the layout with bakers twine.

White puffy alphabet stickers were used for my title.

A sub-title was added using blue die cut letters and black stickers.

I added a flair button to the corner of the photo and added the number 16 to it.

The layout was completed with some fussy cut narwhals, a scattering of gold sequins and some doodling round the edges of the papers and round the puffy alphabet stickers.

Stash Busting

This layout, recording my birthday celebrations last year, was created whilst I was away at my annual crafty get together with friends in April.

I dug into my stash again and used lots of bits and pieces and paper scraps on the layout.

I started with a sheet of 12 x 12 yellow patterned paper and onto this I matted an 11.5 x 11.5 piece of white text paper. My photo was then matted onto two scraps of paper and glued to the layout at an angle.

On the bottom right corner of the photo I added a yellow bingo card and used some foam alphabet stickers (letter 'Os') to circle the date. A flair badge was stuck to the right side of the photo.

Using several different cut files I created some rosettes from coordinating patterned paper and glued these from the top right corner of the layout to the bottom left corner, either side of the photo.

Gold sequins were glued to the centre of each rosette.

In the top left corner of the layout I created a banner using stamped triangles, bakers twine and more gold sequins. I also used letter stickers to add the date, place, etc.

Finally I added yet more gold sequins and some tiny gold stickers.

Stash Busting - Green

In April I spent a weekend with a group of crafting friends in Berkshire. We spent the weekend enjoying each others company and creating. As usual I spent the time scrapbooking! I made quite a few layout including this layout of Lara

This layout was a real Stash Busting layout as I used lots of bits and pieces from my stash. When I put together my page kit I pulled anything from my stash that was green and which I thought would make a good layout- paper, die cuts, tags, frames, embelishments, etc.. I also included some black and white bits and pieces.

I started with a sheet of white cardstock which I matted onto a sheet of green patterned paper and machine stitched round the border.

I matted the photo of Lara on some green paper and then layered other papers and die cuts beneath.

I also added a doilie which I had sprayed with some green mist and a chipboard frame. I used a project life card which said 'She Loved Life and it Loved Her Right Back' as my title.

I even used a tag which had come attached to a bag I bought, a piece of silver sequin waste and ribbon attached to a green paper clip.

I included some touches of black and white including a polka dot flair button.

I die cut some flowers from a sheet of patterned paper and finished the layout with some black ink splatters, glitter foam stars and black sequins.
