To embellish the layout I fussy cut some of the dogs from the Countdown paper. The images were matted onto white card and I then stuck them in groups along the bottom of the layout on foam to add dimension.

The Muttcracker by Photoplay - May your days be Furry & Bright
Today I am on the Scrap Paper Scissors blog with another layout using The Muttcracker collection from Photoplay. I used a photo taken Christmas 2018 by Lara when she was playing around with Millie and some Snapchat filters.
I started my layout by trimming a quarter of an inch off of each side of a sheet of the Feliz Navidog paper and matted this onto a sheet of white cardstock. I machine stitched round the edges using white thread.
Two large Christmas trees were cut from white cardstock using a template from the Silhouette Studio and the 'baubles' on the trees were backed with scraps of cardstock which matched The Muttcracker collection. The trees were then attached to the layout using foam to raise them up. Two torn strips of white cardstock were placed at the bottom of the layout to give the impression of fallen snow.
My photo was printed at roughly 7.5" x 4". I matted the photo with white cardstock and then placed it on top of the Christmas trees and added some red photo corners.

The dog with the reindeer antlers and scarf was so like my dog that it was the perfect embellishment. A few stickers from the Element Sticker sheet were also added.

Pebbles Cozy & Bright - A Pawfect Christmas
I have another layout to share today which I made for the Scrap, Paper Scissors blog using the Cozy & Bright collection from Pebbles Inc. The layout includes a photograph Christopher took a couple of days after our Millie came to live with us on Boxing Day 2011.
I started with a sheet of red Bazzill cardstock and onto this I matted a sheet of the Warm & Cozy (B Side) paper which I had trimmed approx ⅛" from each edge.
My 4"x6" photo was matted on white cardstock and then various pieces of the patterned paper and a white paper doilie were arranged underneath this in the centre of the layout.
Some of the cards from the Merry Little Christmas cut apart sheet, which were a woodgrain pattern, were also tucked in between the layers. I machine stitched with white thread around the edges of the papers and also stuck some torn pieces of gold polka dot washi tape on the edges of the layout.
When attaching the papers to the layout I made sure that one of the pieces of paper became a 'pocket' and I made a tag from some kraft cardstock for my journalling to put in the pocket. To make it easy for the tag to be removed I cut a semi circular notch in the top of the pocket.
Gold stars punched from mirror card, wood veneer stars and sequins were arranged diagonally from the top right corner of the layout to the bottom left corner.
Cozy Chipboard Thickers and Simple Stories Sn@p Letter Stickers were used for the title.
Finally, I added a Freckled Fawn Wood Chip word, wood veneer heart and some pom pom trim beneath the photo. Millie's name was added with some small gold stickers.

I'm Sticking With You
Today's layout is of my puppy Millie. She just loves to chew on a stick and I snapped these photos last month when she was doing just that.
I used Simple Stories Year.o.Graphy paper and apart from adding a few stickers down the side from a packet of 7Gypsies 97% Complete Stickers , some very old re-coloured K & Co Title Stickers, a scalloped circle punched from another sheet of Simple Stories paper and journalling on a transparency I added nothing else. These Simple Stories papers don't need lots of embelishing and are too nice to cover up.

Puppy update
A friend asked me how Millie our Labrador puppy was doing so I thought I would post a few photos here.
The first couple of photos are of Lara with Millie and were taken a few days after Millie came to live with us. Lara absolutely loves Millie and to see them running and playing together in the garden is so sweet.

Christopher took the next few photos. Back in the summer my brother passed onto me a camera which he no longer used. It's an SLR and whilst I, much to Christopher's disgust, have only been using it on auto, he has been playing around with apertures and shutter speeds, etc. I must agree the photos are lovely and I really should be brave and take the camera off auto but that's so scary!

These last few photos were taken just last week in the back garden. Millie has learned that if she finds something tasty in the garden (ie, a leaf or twig) and takes it under the trampoline to munch on it is very difficult for us to get to her to take the tasty morsel off her. These photos were taken in that spot.

Tomorrow she is due to have her final injections and next week we are off to a puppy party! Oh happy days.

Introducing Millie
Yesterday we collected our new puppy 'Millie'. She was very timid last night when we got home but after a good nights sleep (no whining or crying) she has really come out of herself today and is a welcome addition to our family.

Millie is an 8 week old yellow Labrador and has the sweetest, gentlest temperament. So far she has shown no interest in our cat Tux and whilst Tux is obviously curious about this new bundle of fur that has suddenly appeared he seems quite happy too.
