Stash Busting - Happy Birthday

I have another birthday layout today which I made whilst at my crafty getaway earlier in the year. I used lots of paper scraps to create the layout of Lara's 16th birthday.

I started with a 12x12 sheet of black cardstock and in the centre of this I stuck a sheet of grid paper which I had trimmed approx a quarter of an inch from each side.

I then layered pieces of black heart, red spot and red diagonal stripe papers onto the layout as well as a piece of narwhal patterned paper which I had downloaded from the internet and printed on my computer.

My 5x7 photo was mattered onto a piece of patterned paper and then placed on top of the other papers.

I created banners by stamping bunting onto yellow paper. The stamped images were then cut out and put onto the layout with bakers twine.

White puffy alphabet stickers were used for my title.

A sub-title was added using blue die cut letters and black stickers.

I added a flair button to the corner of the photo and added the number 16 to it.

The layout was completed with some fussy cut narwhals, a scattering of gold sequins and some doodling round the edges of the papers and round the puffy alphabet stickers.

Pebbles 'Oh Summertime' - Summer Fun

With the September Equinox at the end of this week officially marking the end of Summer and the start of Autumn, I thought I would make one last summer themed layout using the beautiful Oh Summertime collection from Pebbles for the Scrap Paper Scissors Blog.

I started with a sheet of white Bazzill cardstock and to the top and bottom of the page I stuck wide strips of the Summer Bouquet (B Side) paper. The branding strips on the papers in this collection have cute words and patterns on them and so I added  three of them to the layout as well as narrow strips of bright pink cardstock.

I cut the word 'Summer' from white cardstock using a cut file from the Silhouette Studio and backed this with papers from the collection. The cut file was then stuck to the layout with 3D foam underneath to add dimension.

Two 2x3 photos of Lara playing with the hosepipe in the sunshine were matted on white cardstock and stuck to the right side of the layout, with 3D foam underneath.

I fussy cut some flowers from the Summer Bouquet paper and used these as embelishments.

Using a circle punch I punched the words 'Smile Big' from the Hello Summer paper, matted this on a circle of white cardstock and added it to the layout. Two die cut birds from the Simple Stories Oh Happy Day Bits and Pieces were added.

I completed the layout by adding the word 'Fun' using some very old foam Thickers from my stash and journalling strips printed on white cardstock on my computer.

Pebbles 'Oh Summertime' - Oh happy day

Today I have with another layout using the Oh Summertime collection from Pebbles on the Scrap Paper Scissors Blog.

I started with a 12x12 sheet of white Bazzill cardstock and decided to create a grid type layout using a photo of my Lara taken many years ago and various pieces of paper, chipboard and die cuts. Some elements were raised on foam to give some dimension.

I double matted my photo on a piece of the Bee Happy paper and black Bazzill cardstock and placed this on my layout. I also cut a 3x4 card from the Oh Summertime cut apart sheet and after matting this with black cardstock, I placed this to the left of the photo.

A couple of chipboard frames from the Pinkfresh Studio Everyday Musings collection were added. Inside one frame I stuck a small orange heart die cut from the Simple Stories Oh Happy Day Bits and Pieces.

Another chipboard frame was used to frame one of the cards from the Hello Summer 2x2 cut apart sheet.

Another 2x2 card was matted with black cardstock and a small heart clip from Doodlebug was attached to the top edge.

In the bottom left corner of the grid I placed a piece of the Ball Toss paper which I used for my journalling. A paper frame was layered on top and more of the Simple Stories Oh Happy Days die cuts were used to embelish it. Enamel dots in matching colours were also added. Another piece of the Ball Toss paper was also matted onto black cardstock and put to the right side of the grid

I spelled out the word EXPLORE in some black chipboard Thickers from my stash and placed this on the right side of the grid as well as a narrow strip of blue cardstock to fill in a gap.

My layout was completed with black doodling and some blue photo corners.
