Scrapology - September Card Challenge

Linda has set the monthly card challenge on the Scraology blog this month and 'Anything Goes'. Create whatever card you want using whatever supplies you want.

I decided to make a card using one of the images from a Lili of the Valley 'Jack, Patch and Puss' coloured Art Pad. I chose an image of Patch and Puss!

To make my card I used a 5x7 card blank, Karft cardstock, Free paper from Crafts Beautiful Magazine, Foam Giltter Stars from Poundland and some 'Candi' and a sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

I love mixing bought quality craft supplies with freebie and supplies bought from discount stores!

Hope over to Scrapology to see all the team's cards and for full details of the challenge.

Scrapology - February Card Challenge

In February the card challenge on Scrapology was to create a card in celebration of Mothers Day – a card for Mother’s Day or a special female, a wedding card or female birthday card.

I made a Mother's Day card for my children to give my Mum but not wanting to spoil the surprise I wasn't able to post a photo of the card on my blog until today.

I used a  Lili of the Valley Teddy Bouquet stamp which I coloured with Promarkers to match the patterned papers from a 6"x6" paper pad from the 'Summer Breeze' collection by First Edition Paper. I also used a couple of paper doilies, some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, ribbon and a sentiment printed on the computer.

Scrapology - January card challenge

On Scrapology this month, design team member Scrapdolly has set the card challenge. Scrapdolly choose a colour palette from the Design Seeds website called  'thistled blues' as inspiration for the challenge and you are challenged to create a card using those colours.

I made a Z-fold card (the front of the card is folded back on its self) but the photo unfortunately doesn't show this well.

I used a pre-coloured image from a Lili of the Valley 'Fairies' Art Pad which I matted onto some navy card stock before mounting it on the card which I had decorated with some scraps of blue patterned paper.

The image was zhuzhed up with some Stickles and some star sequins. I finished off the card with a tulle bow and a metal butterfly charm.

Please pop over to Scrapology to have a peek at the rest of the teams cards and to join in the challenge.

Scrapology - January Card Challenge

This months challenge on Scrapology was set by design team member Linda. Inspired by a colour wheel app she I found online the challenge is to make a card using the colours Purple, Lime and Silver.

For my card I used a die cut image from Lili of the Valley and various scraps of patterned paper from my stash. The sentiment was a freebie from a recent magazine, the silver stars and lines were good ol' peel-offs and the ribbon was re purposed from some packaging.

The lime paper doesn't look very lime in this photo but in real life its much more vibrant.

Happy Birthday Lynn

I made this little birthday card for my friend Lynn's birthday this week. I used a Craftwork Cards scallop edge card and papers from a 'Me to You' paper pad. The image is a Lili of the Valley Die Cut image, the organza flowers and lace are from Mei Flowers and the pearls from The Hobby House.

I actually think I may have slipped up with this card. As I was making it I suddenly thought 'I'm sure I've used these flowers with a similar image before' and when I checked I realised when I made Lynn's card last year I used a Lili of the Valley image and the very same flowers. Sorry Lynn. I'll try and come up with something more original next year.

Pinks and Lilacs

A couple of nights ago I stumbled upon The Ribbon Girl blog. The blog provides lots of inspiration as well as challenges, giveaways, etc. I'm really pleased I found the blog because it is overflowing with inspiration.

This month they are running a 'pinks and lilacs' colour challenge and as those colours are right up my street (I blame my daughter LOL) I thought I'd have a go.

I came up with this little birthday card using a gorgeous girlie Lili of the Valley stamped image which I coloured as usual with Promarkers.

The papers were from the Papermania Henbury Lane Collection. I also used lace from Hobbycraft, beautiful Pink Organza Roses from MeiFlowers, Heart Pins from Ebay, Self Adhesive Pearls from The Hobby House, lace and ribbon from my stash and some leaves punched with a 3 leaf punch from L.em.
