Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time

Another layout from my weekend away. A scraplift of a layout by Eva Pizarro.

I used Kraft cardstock for the background and patterned papers from a 6"x 6" paper pack which came free with a magazine.

The 'Christmas Tree' was created using a shape cut on the CraftRobo which was embelished with paper, sequins and wood veneer stars. A star shaped wooden button was placed at the top of the tree.

The tile was created with the word 'Christmas' cut on the CraftRobo and letter stickers.

The top left corner was embellished with paper flags, a journal sticker and more wood veneer stars and letter stickers.

White Space

This layout of my daughter when she was a baby is a scraplift of a layout by Ginger Williams and includes lots of white space.

I used white Bazzill Cardstock and patterned papers from My Mind's Eye's 'On the Sunny Side' collection. I embelished the page with lettering cut on the CraftRobo, Dewdrops (small flat bead-like embellishments, without the hole), homemade acrylic dots, brads and punched butterflies, flowers and circles.

Birthday layout

Whilst away the other weekend, I took the opportunity to create a layout using photos of ,y daughter's last birthday.

I used Bazzill Cardstock and patterned papers from Echo Parks' 'For the Record' collection ans My Minds Eye's 'Lucky in Love' and 'Follow Your Heart' collections. I added a die cut from Grace Taylor and AC Thickers Numbers. The word 'Birthday' was cut on the CraftRobo using a cutting file from the Silhouette Studio.

We Love Wasgij

At our crafty getaway last month I created this layout to record our love of Wasgij jigsaws. The photos were taken quite a few years ago whilst on holiday.

I used Bazzill cardstock, patterned paper and elements from Simple Stories SN@P collection, Flash (Button badge) from American Crafts and handmade enamel dots.

Such a Crafty Girl layout

My second layout from last weekend is a scraplift of a layout by Maria Featon. The layout was quite unusual for me because I used paint and ink which don't usually feature on many of my layouts.

I used a 12" x 12" sheets of Kraft Cardstock and paper strips cut from a 6" x 6" pack of patterned paper which came free with a magazine. Some very old 'stitches' rub-ons were added to the edges of the paper strips.

Before sticking the patterned paper onto my base card I used a couple of Crafter's Workshop stencils to add some added interest. I used white paint with a Hexagon Stencil ....

.... and black ink with a Chicken Wire stencil.

BasicGrey letter stickers were used for the title and paper journalling strips created on the computer were added.

To embelish the layout I made some accordion folded papers rosettes and finished them off with buttons and baker's twine.

Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe

I have just spent a lovely weekend crafting with a group of like minded friends. Having a whole weekend of crafting meant I was able to put together plenty of scrapbook layouts .... something I've not done for some time!

One of my favourite layouts was this layout using Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe Collection. The layout is a scrap lift of a layout by Brazilian scrapbooker Bianca Ribero found on the Crate Paper blog. Emma's Shoppe was released in 2011 so it was nice to finally use the papers I had bought back then.

I used a photo of Lara taken in 2009 after a trip to the library.

The 'books' were made using this 12" x 12" sheet of double sided paper.

I cut the individual books out and shortened them to fit my layout. 'Book marks' were made from ribbon and embroidery floss.

As well as the patterned paper from Crate Paper I also used some papers from Echo Park, Bazzill Cardstock, BasicGrey letter stickers and a 'print n cut' flower file from the Silhouette Studio. Various paper punches and fancy cut scissors were used to add interest to the paper edges.

Scrapology - February Layout Challenge

This month on Scrapology the team has taken inspiration from a layout by Australian Scrapbooker Melinda Spinks

Melinda's layout incorporated lots of squares so this months challenge is to creating a layout using either Melinda's layout or Lynn's sketch as inspiration and some squares.

For my layout I used a photo taken in our village during the winter a few years ago.

I used 12" x 12" white Bazzill cardstock as my base and patterned paper from LOTS of BasicGrey's older winter/festive themed paper collections - Blitzen, Figgy Pudding, Dasher, Eskimo Kisses .....

Branches were cut on the Craft Robo using a shape from the Silhouette Studio and these were attached to the layout with 3D foam to add some dimension. Layered snowflakes from K&Co, crystals, a wooden bird and letters stickers finished off the layout. To add some sparkle the whole layout (apart from the photo) was sprayed with Crafter's Companion Spray & Sparkle Glitter Varnish.

Here is Melinda's original layout .....

..... and Lynn's sketch.

Scrapology - January Layout Challenge

On Scrapology this month the team has taken inspiration from a lovely layout by Laura Vegas and challenge readers to create a scrapbook layout using Laura's layout and/or Lynn's sketch as inspiration and to include in the layout 'Lots of Letters'.

For my layout I used a photo taken a few years ago whilst travelling back across the Solent from the Isle of Wight to Southampton. Never would I have dreamt when I choose that photo, that at the beginning of this month a huge car transporter ship would run aground in that very same area.

The base for my layout was a sheet of white Bazzill cardstock which I sprayed with some turquoise glimmer mist.

Scraps of patterned paper from various Echo Park collections were used and clouds, a seagull and a yacht image were cut on the Craft Robo using shapes from the Silhouette Studio.

Some AC Thickers and an AC Flair button badge were added as well as letter stickers for the date.

Here's Laura's original layout.....

..... and Lynn's sketch

Full details of the challenge can be found on the Scrapology blog so hop on over and have a look.
