Scrapology - December Card Challenge

This  month on Scrapology , Design Team member Linda has set a colour challenge using an image she found on Stylyze.

I decided to make a Thank You card using some BasicGrey 'Infuse' patterned paper and die cuts. I matted various pieces of the patterned paper with Bazzill cardstock and them embelished the card with die cuts which were lifted with 3D foam and finished off with a large brad from Little Leaves. The sentiment was downloaded from the internet and printed on card.

Scrapology - December Layout Challenge

This month on Scrapology the design team has taken inspiration from a layout by US scrapbooker Kimberley Van Diepen. To take part in the monthly challenge followers must create a layout with a number of features (any number) using Kimberley's layout, the pages created by the design team and the sketch provided for inspiration.

For my layout I decided to record 5 Christmas Traditions which our family have.

I used patterned papers from Cosmo Cricket's 'Be Good' collection and K&Company's 'Christmas Swirl'.

The circles on my layout were printed from the Internet onto some scraps of the Cosmo Cricket paper.

The inserted eyelets into the circles and strung them together using bakers twine and embellished them with punched fern branches. The journalling was printed onto another scrap of paper onto which I had already printed a tradition definition. The whole layout was then finished off with lots of glitter glue for added sparkle.

Here is Kimberley's original layout .....

Scrapology - November Card Challenge

This month design team member Karen Leonard has sent the card challenge on the Scrapology blog. Karen is challenging blog readers to create a card using colours found in a specific image from Design Seeds

I created a 5"x7" card featuring a free vintage image downloaded from the Internet.

I used various papers which were free with craft magazines, satin ribbon, paper flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, adhesive pearls, a paper tag and the sentiment was from a QVC kit.

Here's the image which the card was inspired by.

You can find lots more inspiration on the Scrapology blog and full details of the challenge which runs until midnight on 15 December.

Scrapology - November Layout Challenge

This month the Scrapology design team have been inspired by a layout by Brazilian born scrapbooker Carmen Crosseti Henriquez . Carmen's bright colourful layout featured hearts so this months challenge to blog readers is to create a layout inspired by Carmen's original layout and incorporate hearts or some other repeated shape into your design.

For my layout I used a photo of my cat, Tux.

I used a variety papers from BasicGrey. BasicGrey were once my 'go to' manufacturer for most of my layouts but over the years I've fallen out of love with their collections, but for this layout the papers seemed a good choice.

The hearts were cut on the CraftRobo and stitched to the layout with the sewing machine.

The wording was printed on an ink jet transparency and stuck onto the page. A scattering of flat back pearls and homemade enamel dots finished off the layouts

Here is Carmen's original layout .......

..... and of course, Lynn's sketch.

Scrapology - October Card Challenge

This months card challenge on the Scrapology blog has been set by Paula from Crafts U Love. Paula is challenging you to create a Christmas Card using blue and silver.Paula has also offered a £10 voucher to spend at Crafts U Love as this months prize.

For my card I decided to create a Christmas/Winter wreath using silver fern branches punched using a Martha Stewart branch punch.

I punched the branches from silver paper and arranged them in a circular shape on a piece of white card.

The 'wreath' was then decorated with silver and blue gems and a bow tied from satin ribbon. A silver snowflake charm was stitched to the bow. To finish off the card I fixed a 'Happy Christmas' die cut in the centre of the wreath.

Scrapology - October Layout Challenge

This month on the Scrapology blog inspiration has been taken from a super layout by Australia scrapbooker Julianne McKenna-De Lumen, otherwise known as Jules The Bling Princess.

The design team have created layouts incorporating 'label shapes' and the challenge this month to blog readers is to also incorporate 'label shapes' in a layout taking inspiration from Julianne's layout.

For my layout I used a recent photo of my daughter taken last month on her first day back at school.

I used patterned papers from Simple Stories and October Afternoon and the large 'label shape' was from Jenni Bowlin. The 'Back to School Journalling Cards' were downloaded from Scrapbookgraphics.com and printed onto cardstock. The layout was embelished with a Karen Foster sticker, Kaisercraft alphabet stickers, washi tape, brads, cork sheet and the title was cut on the Craft Robo.

Here is Julianne's original layout...................

Scrapology - September Layout Challenge

This month on Scrapology the team have taken inspiration from a lovely layout by Robyn Schaub and we challenge blog readers to also create a layout based on Robyn's layout incorporating three photos.

For my layout I used three photos taken over five years ago at a local steam fayre when Lara was enjoying the Bungee Trampoline.

I used kraft cardstock for the base and then on top of this I layered a sheet patterned 'sky' paper from October Afternoon's Woodland Park collection. Other patterned paper from Dream Street, Basic Grey and Prima were also used to make the photo mats. The page was embelished with luggage labels, Studio Calico wood veneer butterflies, washi tape, Thickers alphabet stickers and adhesive pearls.

Here is Robyn's beautiful layout  .......

...... and Lynn's sketch.

Summer Holiday Craft - Day 12 (01/09/14)

Summer Craft has been a bit sporadic this last week or so with days spent with friends and family leaving no time for craft.

But today we found time for Lara to do some more sewing using another free magazine sewing kit.

Using the MDF templates she made a hanging dog ornament.
