Simple Stories - Freezin' Season - All Bundled Up

Today I have another layout on the Scrap paper Scissors blog using  Freezin' Season from Simple Stories.

For my layout I choose three 3x4 photos of Lara taken in 2008 and matted them with Bazzill Flamingo Cardstock. I then trimmed a sheet of Bazzill Avalanche cardstock to approx 11"x11" and matted this onto a piece of the Shiverin' paper giving it a narrow border before sticking it to the middle of a 12x12 sheet of the Sweater Weather paper.Horizontal strips of the Shiverin' paper and Snuggle Up paper were glued to the lower half of the page.

My three photos were added to the centre of the layout on 3D foam, to add some dimension, and punched strips of white glitter cardstock were used to add a border to the central photo.

I machine stitched around the edge of the papers and also stitched vertical lines from the top of the layout onto the white cardstock. Snowflakes punched from glitter cardstock, sequins, pink Dew Drops and enamel stars from Shimelle's Glitter Girl collection were added.

At the bottom of the layout I added my title using black puffy alphabet stickers.

I picked out one of penguins in the paper at the bottom of the layout and coloured his hat and scarf in the same colours as those worn by Lara. A star puffy sticker was added to the top of his hat.

In my stash I found a penguin stamp which was remarkably similar to the penguins on the paper so I stamped him onto some white cardstock, fussy cut and coloured him and added him beside the title.  I could have instead fussy cut a penguin from one of the cut-apart sheets if I hadn't already used the paper for another layout!

The layout was finished with the addition of the date in the bottom corner using little letter stickers.

Simple Stories - Freezin' Season - Winter Wonderland

This month on the Scrap Paper Scissors blog I'm working with Freezin' Season from Simple Stories. This is a great whimsical winter collection that's perfect for scrapbooking snowy photos. The photos I used for my first layout were taken 10 years ago when snow fell everyday for a week!

I started with a sheet of Bazzill 12x12 Avalanche cardstock and using some Cosmic Shimmer Texture Paste and a Creative Expressions Mini Snowflakes Stencil I added some snowflakes to the top and bottom of the cardstock.

Before the paste dried, I sprinkled some microfine white glitter on top to make the snowflakes sparkle. It's difficult to see from this photo how much they sparkle but in real life they really shimmer.

I cut a 10½" x 2½" strip of the Sweater Weather (B Side) paper and stuck this horizontally across the page as a shelf for my photos. The photos were matted on some grey cardstock and a piece of the Snuggle Up (B Side) paper.

I cut strips of the Sweater Weather (A Side) paper and layered these horizontally and vertically on the layout. I also included in the layers a piece of lace, some glitter cardstock and some washi tape for added texture.

Where the horizontal and vertical paper strips met, I  added a snow-globe and little girl which I fussy cut from the 3x4 Elements paper and the Frosty Friends paper. I embellished the snow-globe with some more glitter.

Silver glittery foam alphabet stickers and some older Simple Stories pink alphabet stickers were used for the title.

On the edge of one of the photo I added three Dusty Attic Wordpl@y chipboard words which I rubbed a little white acrylic paint into.

My layout was completed with a scattering of silver sequins, some tiny number stickers for the date and a doodled pen border.
